I have several sub directories in my website. I wish to access a file in the root folder from one of these sub directories. I am trying to use:

Code:
include '/includes.php';

however, this does not work. I have searched a few tutorials and this seems to be the recognised way to do this sort of thing. Can anyone give me any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks
