This is a quick guide, as to what information we would like when asking questions on Apache.

Points will be added as they come to our attention.

Version Number
Apache has changed a lot between version 1.3 and version 2. This means that a lot of people have continued to use apache 1.3 since their code worked with it and would require porting to work with 2.0. Since apache 1.3 and apache 2.0 are both in widespread use, and are in certain ways significantly different, please include the version number of apache that you are using. Also when following online apache docs, that you are following the docs for the correct apache version.
